Van Roy’s latest work
“The 3 Sisters - Vida, Dana and Alina”
(2021) is a game about gathering.
The work also questions the position of the individual and the necessary quest for identity. Dealing with loneliness and being-alone within a collective. Van Roy names the glass vessels as women, to give each an identity as starting point. The work takes position and leans over to the peaky viewer. The vessel invites, void unfolds and draws conversation, perhaps the fill. Never saturé.
